The homeowners contacted DMA Property Solutions because their rear garden was built on a steep incline, leaving virtually no flat outdoor space for everyday family life. While the property itself suited their needs, the sloping garden limited how they could use the space for relaxing, entertaining and allowing children to play safely.
They wanted a complete solution from one trusted contractor, including the structural groundwork, landscaping and finishing touches required to transform the garden into a practical extension of their home.

The Project - Complete Garden Transformation
Following detailed planning and site preparation, our experienced building and refurbishment team began the extensive groundworks required to reshape the garden.
The first stage involved constructing a substantial retaining wall, measuring approximately 2 metres high and 40 metres long, across the lower section of the garden. This essential structural feature would safely support the newly raised ground levels while creating a solid foundation for the landscaping work.
Once the retaining wall had been completed, we imported and carefully distributed more than 400 tonnes of quality ground material and topsoil. Every stage of the filling process was carefully managed to ensure the correct compaction and levels were achieved before moving onto the finishing stages.
With the new ground levels established, our team prepared approximately 600 square metres of outdoor space by raking, levelling and carrying out a complete garden lawn installation. Premium turf was laid across the entire area to create a healthy, attractive lawn that would quickly establish into a durable family garden.
To complete the project, we installed new garden fencing along the retaining wall, improving both safety and appearance while creating a clean, well-defined boundary that complements the property's overall finish.
Throughout the 24-week project, our five-person team managed every aspect of the work, coordinating the structural construction, landscaping and finishing elements to deliver a seamless result.

What had previously been a steep, difficult-to-use hillside became a large, level garden that significantly increased the property's usable outdoor space.
