Fourneaux de France Toilet Block Renovation

Project Overview

DMA was appointed as the commercial plumbing contractor for a complete toilet renovation project at the Poole showroom of Fourneaux de France, a prestigious kitchen appliance supplier specialising in luxury cookers and range ovens.

The project involved the full renovation of both the men’s and ladies’ toilet blocks, including the installation of new sanitary ware, motion-sensor taps, modern aqua panel wall finishes, and luxury vinyl tile flooring.

The original facilities had been in use for more than 30 years and were in urgent need of upgrading. The client required a professional and efficient team capable of delivering a high-quality refurbishment within a tight timeframe, while ensuring the design complemented the high-end standards associated with the Fourneaux de France brand.

What We Did

DMA was brought in as the lead plumbing contractor to oversee the full renovation from strip-out to completion. The works began in mid-October 2025 and are scheduled for completion by the end of November 2025, with an overall programme of approximately six weeks.

The project is being led by Josh, one of DMA’s most experienced multi-trade professionals. With over 15 years of carpentry experience, Josh has taken charge of internal finishing aspects, including flooring, ceilings, carpentry, and general project management. He ensured every detail meets the high standards expected on a commercial plumbing contract of this scale. Plumbing and electrical engineers supported Josh throughout the build with work in their respective fields.

“It’s been rewarding working on this job,” said Josh. “Installing hidden doors to conceal the boiler was a neat feature that adds a touch of class to the overall aesthetic.”

Men’s Toilet Refurbishment

In the men’s toilets, DMA replaced all existing sanitary ware with modern, durable, and hygienic fixtures. The layout features:

  • Two new urinals

  • Two toilets

  • One shared sink with dual motion-sensor taps

  • A high-speed hand dryer

All fixtures were installed with attention to both functionality and style, ensuring a professional and comfortable environment for staff and visitors alike.

Ladies’ Toilet Refurbishment

The ladies’ facilities were similarly modernised to match the men’s toilets in both layout and finish. The installation includes:

  • Two new toilets

  • One shared sink with dual motion-sensor taps

  • A high-speed hand dryer

Both areas were finished with aqua panel walling, a practical, moisture-resistant surface ideal for commercial washrooms, and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, chosen for its durability and easy maintenance.

These material choices not only enhance visual appeal but also improve hygiene, which was a key consideration for Fourneaux de France as a customer-facing showroom.

Added Features and Detailing

Beyond the plumbing installation, DMA carried out a comprehensive internal refurbishment to elevate the space to modern commercial standards.

Josh undertook a range of multi-trade works, including:

  • Dropping and reboarding the ceilings

  • Installing recessed LED spotlights to create comfortable, ambient lighting

  • Self-levelling and latexing the floors before LVT installation

  • Boarding, decorating, and finishing the walls and ceilings

“We installed spotlights for lighting on the ceilings,” said Josh. “These provide a comfortable ambient lighting that really helps give the toilets a modern, clean finish.”

The decision to install motion-sensor taps also played an important role in improving hygiene levels.

“We installed motion-sensor taps, which are more hygienic than standard ones,” Josh explained. “They help reduce touch points, which is important in shared spaces.”

The concealed boiler area was another carefully considered element of the design.

“Installing hidden doors to conceal the boiler was a neat feature,” Josh added. “It gives the space a premium, streamlined look while maintaining practical access for maintenance.”

Challenges & Solutions

Working within a live commercial environment presented logistical challenges, as the showroom remained operational throughout much of the renovation. DMA scheduled work in phases to minimise disruption, ensuring that essential facilities remained accessible wherever possible.

The existing plumbing infrastructure was also dated, requiring careful assessment before replacement. DMA’s team carried out a full plumbing inspection to identify necessary pipework modifications and ensure compliance with modern regulations.

By coordinating closely with the client’s on-site management team, DMA was able to maintain clear communication, meet deadlines, and achieve a smooth workflow across multiple trades.

Results

This Poole commercial plumbing contract represents a significant improvement for the client, both functionally and aesthetically.

The new facilities now reflect the premium image of Fourneaux de France’s showroom, creating a positive impression for visitors and staff.

The renovation has achieved:

  • Enhanced hygiene through motion-sensor technology and easy-clean finishes

  • Improved lighting and comfort with recessed LED spotlights

  • Long-term durability with high-quality sanitary ware and LVT flooring

  • Modern design continuity aligned with the showroom’s high-end aesthetic

The completed project showcases DMA’s versatility as a commercial plumbing and refurbishment contractor, capable of delivering multi-trade building works on time and to an exceptional standard.
